How would you like to wake up each day in Paradise, swim in the emerald pools and drink bikini martinis on the Caribbean shores? That's what we did on our honeymoon in 1996. I had permed hair, we were pre-tanned and prepped for the voyage of our life. With six Latin dance lessons under our belts, we Marengued and Salsaed our way through five Islands on a luxurious party boat cruise.
We encountered many wonderful people on this adventure, some of whom I sing about in this Smokey Wine duet. It's filled with beautiful harmonies, perfectly magical flute and a gentle Reggae acoustic guitar. The ambient sounds of the rain stick add texture with the shakers and the conga drum hand-crafted by Craig Lybarger. We must give a shout out to Mark Dowding who expertly played the happy flute. It all began many years ago at Fluid Sound with 12 tracks engineered by Peter Honychurch. When the studio closed, we weren't quite done, so we were given all the Apple files. At that time we didn't have a Mac computer, so our good friend and awesome bass player, Dustin Smalley finished it up at his home studio. It's the last song of our 'Two Of A Kind' album.
Let's trip down memory lane again... We had a whole day in Barbados. Right away, Lea had her hair braided where a sweet hat vender woman said, "Shine yo head out the sun, girl, shine yo head out the sun." We got high in Cheapside and spent all our cash on jewelry so we went back to the ship for lunch and mo money. We visited a really old cemetery, bought some fresh nutmeg at the open market in town and walked the beach where I got my nickname 'Snowman' from a one armed painter named Lefty. We ate lunch on a nude beach on the french side of Saint Martin and won a rock and roll dance contest on a glass-bottomed, rum-infused boat cruise in Martinique. We danced with local musicians in the cliffs of Domica and ordered drinks in the waters at Meagan's Bay in St. Thomas. Fun Fun Fun. I highly recommend going on a Caribbean cruise at least once in your life, if you haven't already. You can invite us along...we're very entertaining!
Until next time, may you melt into a relaxed groove where daydreams of holidays and hot sunshine take you to beaches overlooking turquoise waters. PS: Thank you for supporting organic music and indulging in my weekly blogification.

Sing along with the lyrics below:
Iponz the rasta man from Barbados
Making love necklace from the velvet seed
Iponz makes you happy with his treasures
He's giving positive vibration
In Barbados, no problem, give a little love
Barbados no problem, give a little love
Leone, a pretty girl from Dominica
Selling flowers with her Carib heart
In the beautiful rainforest, Dominica
Hear the parrots talking at the Emerald Pool
Dominica, no problem, give a little love
Barbados no problem, give a little love
Ian on the island of Saint Thomas
Waking up each day in Paradise
Where the waters are so warm
You can't believe it
And the people welcome you with open arms
In Saint Thomas, no problem, give a little love
Dominica, no problem, give a little love
Barbados no problem, give a little love
On Saint Kitts there is a rapper known as G Que
His poetry is strong and full of love
All the sugar canes reach up to touch the Heavens
Make you feel like dancing to the Caribbean sound
In Saint Christopher, no problem, give a little love
Saint Thomas, no problem, give a little love
Dominica, no problem, give a little love
Barbados no problem, give a little love
Barbados, no problem, give a little love
Give a little love, (love, love, love)
Give a little love, (give a little love)
Give a little love
