My Blue Jay is a Black Jay Now!

Updated: Feb 6, 2019

Hi, this is Mark Sheldan telling you that laughter is good medicine and music makes the words go down easy. Take for instance, this tragic but true story about a blue jay who used to land on the electrical wires at 5 am every morning and screech at me in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. One rainy morning he miscalculated his landing and blew up, causing a rather large power outage.

Funny is my middle name and this original song is definitely a knee slapper. It's a perfect tune for children of all ages and one of the many hilarious hits from TOYBOX TUNES. This CD is full of sing-alongs, creativity, dance movements and interactive children's songs. With Lea Sheldan, my partner in music and in life, we have created a Healthy Living Tour where we teach valuable lessons with comedy and art. We are planning to attend festivals, intermediate school events and back yard parties to get our music out there. Even art therapy classes could benefit from the unique colouring book that goes along with the CD. Country, folk, jazz, blues, sweet harmonies and finger picking to soothe anyone's soul is what you get when you request a song out of the Toybox Tunes catalog.

My Bluejay

My Blue jay is a black jay now

My Blue jay is a black jay now

To the voltage box he flew up

Next thing he knew he blew up

My Blue jay is a black jay now

My Blue jay he don't say much anymore

My Blue jay he don't say much anymore

Every morning he used to squawk

Now he's all crispy and he don't talk

My Blue jay he don't say much anymore

My Blue jay he ain't going anywhere

My Blue jay he ain't going anywhere

I rolled him over with my boot

Looks like his guts have turned to soot

My Blue jay he ain't going anywhere

My Blue jay left the living with a boom

My Blue jay left the living with a boom

He exploded with a mighty sound

Took out the power in Whonnok town

My Blue jay left the living with a boom

My Blue jay he can't even sing the blues

My Blue jay he can't even sing the blues

Of the stellar batch he was the best

But now he's just a fried up mess

My Blue jay he can't even sing the blues

My Blue jay is a black jay now

My Blue jay is a black jay now

To the voltage box he flew up

Next thing he knew he blew up

My Blue jay is a black jay

My Blue jay is a black jay

My Blue jay is a black jay now.
