As the winds of changes blow, the counter balance between the rich and the poor shifts like the ebb and flow of politically shark-infested waters. When all you hear is fake news and the basic rights of freedom are challenged, a song must be written to point out these injustices. This vision of reflection offers no cures; only a tone of yearning, a race for equality and undeniable bitterness toward the flaws in our government.
Maybe they don't or maybe they do
Say something about the way of the world
With the stroke of the brush in fanciful lands
By free flowing paints and poetic hands
In hopes that your minds and hearts start to swirl
Gathering thoughts and dreams that come true

This protest song begins with three part angelic voices all sung by Lea Sheldan who engineered the entire session. (leasheldan.com) I use a Travis style fingerpicking technique I picked up in the 60's to drive this dirge along. I backed it up with the best bass line I could come up with and delivered my vocal track with a dynamic style that even Leonard Cohen would be proud of.
That's my story, that's the way it goes
I spread my love all across the land.
Even though this old world
Is hard to understand.
