Fearless Dreamer


Last year, I heard someone say, "Be fearless in your dreaming". Soon after, this song was born. I slept on it, I drove on it, I worked it and kneaded it until it it was cooked just right. I learned how to play one harmonica lick that I did over and over until I was out of breath. I fought with the drum machine until I mastered the stupid thing and pounded out the best bass line I could think of. I decided to be greedy with this song, choosing to play every instrument myself. It was rather satisfying I do admit.



Both my brothers Russell and Craig play awesome harmonica and so does Mark, so I thought, maybe I can too. But it is very hard! Which reminds me of another saying I heard lately - "Everything is hard except peeing in the shower". Writing, creating, recording, producing, promoting, the list goes on... I stepped up and was fearless in the face of this daunting adventure. My solo album was almost called "Fearless Dreamer" but then I wrote 'Anything Goes' and everything changed.


From a little kid who was afraid of spiders and dogs with absolutely no fashion sense, I have grown up to have a set of healthy fears and I hope, better taste in clothes. But you gotta love that penguin sweater...I did. LOL. And I had abs back then too... Oh, those were the days. Sigh.
