Just when you think you've heard all the nonsense you can take, out of the blue comes a non-political, non-romantic, fair-weather tale of sunshine and positive summer fun. This happy little rock a billy tune is basking in the goodness of life with a care-free, toss your shoes out; it's flip-flop time attitude. I've floated down enough rivers to really know the relaxing bliss I speak of. Not to mention the joy that my husband, Mark, gets during the halter top, short shorts, bikini martini season that's upon us. The less clothes, the better, I say.
Speaking of river rats, here's a little peek at our 2017 Jamaican adventure tubing down the White River. For this new release I decided to pull out my low voice to emphasize the relaxed vibe I wanted to portray. Smokeywine harmonies were naturally placed to lighten the mood. (Smokeywine.com) This song was recorded during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown in our Twisted Gitar Music Studio with no other musicians but Mark and me. We did our best harmonica duets to fill in where I imagined the horn section to be. A walking bassline blends with the light-hearted lyrics that tell the story unapologetically.
