Do you want what you have, or have what you want in life? It's all about satisfaction and living your best life these days and luckily, we live in a country that lets us do and say and buy and use whatever we desire anywhere, anytime. Being grateful that I am Canadian is an understatement to say the least. So many others in the world are suffering while I get to have freedom, security and love all around me every day. I would be crazy not to love our life in this beautiful resort town between two gorgeous lakes, surrounded by spectacular clay banks covered in sage bush, sprinkled with deer and wild flowers. I ask myself all the time "Why didn't I move back here years ago?" It's all about timing and I believe we got here just in the nick of time.
It didn't take me long to find old photos of me playing guitar, but now I play harmonica too, so my musical world is expanding. On this new song I play bass on the piano keyboard and midi drums on the computer keyboard. It's mixed with a drum track from Conrad Lambertus, along with some cool FX vocals he grabbed from my vocal track. Mark Sheldan did some fancy guitar leads with nifty wawa effects through the Vox amp. (marksheldan.com) This may sound a bit different from my other songs, but it's still me with my usual backups and layered harmonies. I have to thank Aurora Lybarger for getting me to change the title from 'Like Your Life' to 'Love Your Life'. It certainly has more impact now. (smokeywine.com)
This is me on my birthday ready to go to dinner with good friends. We are happy to mingle again now that Covid is dying down and there are plans in the works to play gigs at the senior center in Penticton, if we pass the audition. Here's something else to get excited about. We want to welcome our new listeners in Thailand, Great Britain, Sweden, Vietnam, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Untied Arab Emanates, France, Spain and Nigeria. And this is all from November! Now that our Christmas Album is officially out and everywhere, it has gotten a bit of attention. Next year it should be racking in the pennies. LOL. Parts of pennies, more like it. It is almost laughable what Spotify and the other platforms pay to us lowly artists, but we take what we can get and appreciate that people are hearing our songs across the globe and that feels really good. Please keep supporting organic, homegrown music and local artists and we will keep pumping out music and art for you to consume. For example, here is an excerpt from the latest poetic nonsense Mark and I put out in a little book we like to call 'Word Vomit 4 Kids'
HOLES: I got a hole in my pocket, I got a hole in my shoe, I got a hole in my donut, I'll share my holes with you. I got a hole in my sweater, I got a hole in my sock, I got a hole in my jammies, I'm glad my holes don't talk.
Here are samples of my latest adventure with paint pouring. Mark took off all the switch plates off the walls and with the help and guidance of my dad, I did wet paper towel pulls to create the cool looking cells. Like mini galaxies. Now, I have to seal them with clear resin. You can't really see the sparkles, but there are lots of them to catch the light. I wonder what I'll do next... any suggestions? Until we meet again. don't forget to Love, Laugh and Dance. Cheers! Lea Sheldan ~*.*~
