Hoarding. I come by it naturally. In my dad's workshop there's every tool known to man with a backup for every backup. I learned from my girlfriend, Linnette, the art of throwing stuff out. However, I still possess over 20 stuffed Christmas bins, dozens of full craft bins and if you ask anyone, way too many shoes. I did encaustic art for the album cover that is a chaotic mess of beautiful colours. It represents sort of what my life is like; a chaotic beautiful mess. But I like it.
Isn't it ironic that shortly after you throw something out, you need it? Happens to me all the time. I get into a purging phase and toss shit out, but a week, or a month later, I'm kicking myself for getting rid of it. CLASSIC. And so - I'll never throw out the second backup moulinex food processor that I paid five bucks for at a yard sale! One day I'll need it, I'm sure of it.
'Get Rid Of It' is a lighthearted bluegrass country ditty that addresses a dark problem.
As usual, I do all my own harmonies and play rhythm guitar. There's a subtle banjo in the background accompanied by sweet mandolin riffs and a gorgeous bass, all played by Mark, my enabler. It's my cousin John Hunt's favourite song on 'Anything Goes'. It's a continuation of my funny bone series and upholding my philosophy to love, laugh and dance. ~*.*~ Lea Sheldan

Sing along to the lyrics below;
Get Rid Of It
If you have fifty hammers and a million screws
Buckets full of things you don’t know how to use
A backup for your backup and too many shoes
You’ve got too much stuff
I know what I’m talking about, my house is full
The garden shed is stuffed and the garage is too
It’s piling up so high that I can’t find the loo
I’ve got too much stuff
I should have a yard sale and give things away
Put ‘em in the alley with a sign – Free Today
Box it up, bag it up and get it out the door
Make some room around me so I can get some more
Stuff, stuff, stuff, I like my stuff
If you saved every prize that you won at the fair
A closet full of clothes that you don’t ever wear
Bangles, beads and baubles hanging everywhere
You’ve got too much stuff
So get rid of it, if it doesn’t fit. If it’s broken throw it out
If you don’t use it, you don’t need it, man up and let it go
Clean up the place and make some space and get rid of it
Get rid of it; get rid of it; get rid of it
(Stuff, stuff, stuff, I like my stuff)
