We really don't know how much time we get in this plane of existence, but if we are fated to die, then I say fight for happiness until the end. This celtic love song was conceived while floating in my backyard pool, wishing to say goodbye to regrets and mistakes of the past, so I can smile and focus on the beautiful world in front of me. I offer the listener a positive outlook about the struggles of self-acceptance and feeling *The Power of Now. If anyone knows me, they know I have a tiny aversion to patience. Reading that *book changed my life. I still have a long way to go, especially with controlling my rage issues, but I have faith I'll get there...
It's hard to believe it's been 23 years since Mark and I said "I do"and so became Smokeywine, the duo. For me it was the first and last time to do such an outrageous and quite unnecessary ceremony, all for the sake of a good party! Some still say it was 'the greatest wedding of all time' - a free-for-all, hot summer night with everyone singing, dancing, jammin and carousing until the makeup was runny and people started kissing the wrong people. By the way, Smokeywine will happily sing at your wedding, birthday, funeral...whatever the occasion. Shameless plug, I know... (smokeywine.com)
Keeping with the Halloween theme, here is a glimpse of one of the Lafayette Cemeteries in New Orleans. It was Friday the thirteenth, 2010, raining hard, thunder, lightning, hot gumbo, flooding streets, haunted houses, stories of rich plantation owners and their slaves, searching for ghosts lurking in dark windows at the witching hour. I loved everything about the Garden District! Hence, my obsession for graveyards this time of year. All this effort and only about ten kids came to our door to beg for candy. There were a few super-heros, a wee fireman, a couple disney princesses and Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss were pretty impressive. We fed our party guests the leftover candy the next day and then took those leftovers to another party the day after that.
Along with the large amount of food, a great deal of music exploded from these recent gatherings, which brings me back to this week's release, 'For The Last Time'. We were honored to have Julia Vidakovic come to Twisted Gitar Music Studio to play the harp she calls Daisy. The angelic spirit of the harp brought the mood to an ethereal plane enhancing the emotional lyrics that tell the story of love and the circle of life. My dad says it brings tears to his eyes when he hears this one. I added warm harmonies and rattle stick percussion, while Mark Sheldan played gentle mandolin along with the fluctuating tempos which created the ebb and flow of the melody. (marksheldan.com)
I am thrilled to see that there are new listeners in Bad Soberheim - Germany, Franklin - Tennessee, O'Fallon - Missouri, Sliema - Malta, Penticton, Ottawa, Surrey, Vancouver and even in Fukuoka on Kyushu Island in Japan! Never stop supporting organic homegrown music and local artists! I hope you all find the courage to Love, Laugh and Dance without hesitation and party every chance you get because you never know if it will be for the last time! ~*.*~ Lea Sheldan

For The Last Time
Why do people reminisce about the good old days?
I get tired of looking back at things I cannot change
Mistakes I made and roads I walked, made me who I am
So I will keep on living while I can
Until we say goodbye for the last time
Love will keep us warm in the night
Until the sun sets down for the last time
I’ll hold onto love for dear life
I try to keep the promises I made so long ago
Even if I fail most days I love you more and more
But I am scared of growing old and what comes after then
But I will keep on living while I can
Until we say goodbye for the last time
Love will keep us warm in the night
Until the sun sets down for the last time
I’ll hold onto love for dear life
I’m looking for the beauty in a world that has gone bad
Caught between the anger and the pain and all the sad
But when I’m in my garden full of miracles and zen
I will keep on smiling while I can
Until we say goodbye for the last time
Love will keep us warm in the night
Until the sun sets down for the last time
I’ll hold onto love for dear life
Until we say goodbye for the last time
Love will keep us warm in the night
Until the sun sets down for the last time
I’ll hold onto lo-o-o-ove for the last time
