This year-end survival tune has jazz, pizzazz and razzmatazz. It's rocking blues that proves I'm in it to win it! No matter what hits me in life, I've never been one to give up and I'm not about to start now. The idea for this song started with a funny bit on the ‘Ellen’ show when a sweet old lady spouted the familiar words: "Keep on keeping on". Playing around with a few simple progressions on our 1930's Chicago-built acoustic piano, the dreary words poured out. It speaks of depressing times but lets a tiny beam of love light shine through the darkness.
This beautiful looking piano came to us stained yellow-white, beat up and dilapidated. We broke railings, poked holes in walls trying to get this thing up the stairs at our old place. Finally we called the professional piano movers who told us "pianos don't bend." Our friend Linnette helped us paint it with a black onyx marbling technique. Can you tell Mark painted the bench?
The year of the Great Release finishes up with possibly the best track yet. As usual, I multi-tasked and played the rhythm on the piano, power chords on the telecaster and added slow, sexy drums to take it to another level. Inspired layers of fast finger-dancing on the ivories and ebonies by Mark Sheldan add excitement and tension. (marksheldan.com) Classic Smokeywine harmonies are gospel choir inspired and the message encourages you to go with the flow, never give up and fight for life and love. (smokeywine.com) It was a fun song to record and one of the few that actually gives me goosies.
Our world map of listeners is getting more pins stuck in to it, with a new one in Solleftea, Sweden. Thank you to all those who continue to support organic, homegrown music and local artists. We are grateful that we get to share our songs and experiences with you and plan to keep on keeping on in the new year with slight changes to our blogging formats. Surprises are on the way so keep tuned in. Stand up and fight the fight in 2020 and as always, Love, Laugh and Dance. ~*.*~ Lea Sheldan

Keep On Keeping On
You can’t get on your feet
Life is incomplete
Everything’s is wrong
Just keep on keeping on
There’s no use worrying
The world ain’t gonna change
And you’re right where you belong
Just keep on keeping on
Keep on keeping on 3X
Your bankroll is a bust
You don’t know who to trust
The good times can’t be gone
Keep on keeping on 3X
Stand up and fight the fight
Love is gonna make it right Make it right
Keep on keeping on 3X
It’s a gamble to survive
Always one or two steps behind
Gotta laugh and play along
And keep on keeping on
You’re running out of time
All you see is crime
You gonna make it through the storm
Keep on keeping on 3X
Stand up for what you believe
Love is gonna set you free Set you free
Keep on keeping on 9X
Stand up and fight the fight
Love is gonna make it right Make it right
Keep on keeping on … Set you free
