Later . . .

Procrastination is my middle name, always has been, probably always will be. How many of you still have the last time zone on a clock in the back room? I bet even some of you have a round 'to it' somewhere in a stash of knick knacks from the eighties. Point in fact, I waited until the last minute to write this blog, not unlike how I was in school. But somehow, essays got done, book reports, done, usually that morning, before first bell. I was famous for reading the last pages of a book to 'save time'. Isn't that a funny saying? I only wish I could save time for later.

Exploiting bad habits, that I can do. This week's release is a jazzy, country saga where I moan about how much crap there is to do and how little time there is to do it. It's a wonder I even finished the project. It all began in the summertime as I was floating in my pool thinking about all the things on my list and feeling the 'later' vibe. Being in a swing genre mode at the time, I produced this campy comedy.

Me and Mark in Aruba feeling the 'later' vibe

'Later' is an interpretive, swing tune, with rhythmical harmonica and harmony saxophones playing off each other. Dustin Smalley put down the bass tracks, my brother Russell Lybarger blew the harp, Gerry Potter played sax and I held down the rhythm and percussion. It's maraca magic behind the crisp, clear vocals singing a ton of clichés we love to hate with familiar Smokeywine harmonies. (Smokeywine.com)

I was going to cut my hair but I said, "Later"

I encourage you to sort out your socks and reset all your clocks maybe for the last time this October. The powers that be may pass a new law that keeps us all in daylight savings all year long. But are we really saving daylight? It's the sun that is our dictator, not the almighty clock. Please enjoy my silly humour; I hope my song doesn't give you an ear worm... Unfortunately, our time is now ticking down so I must bid you adieu. Until next time, keep supporting organic, homegrown music and local artists and remember to Love, Laugh and Dance! Later alligator ~*.*~ Lea Sheldan

Later

Later, I’ll do it later. Nothing I can’t put off until then

Later, I think is better. Wait until I get a second wind

All this running round I can’t do it now

Stuff I have to do has got me feeling blue

The list is getting long I feel a headache coming on

I’ll just sit back down and do it later

Later, I’ll do it later. Nothing I can’t put off until then

Later, I think is better. Wait until I get a second wind

I wake up each day with too much on my plate

A hundred chores to go and time is moving slow

My feet are full of lead and I’m dizzy in my head

I’ll go back to bed and do it later

Procrastination, that’s my middle name

No hesitation, to put it off for another day later

Procrastination, that’s my middle name

No hesitation, to put it off for another day

Later, I’ll do it later. Nothing I can’t put off until then

Later, alligator. I’ll be better after five or ten

Give me half a chance I’ll water all my plants

Clean the litter box and reset all those clocks

It’s hard to exist when I lost my shopping list

I can’t handle this, I’ll do it later

No, I can’t do it now, I’ll do it later

Don't make me do it now, I’ll do it later

l'll do it later

I'll do it later

I'll do it later
