Love is Like the Wind

The tragedy of a breakup can be heavy and suffocating but it can also spark the need to write about it. Some scribble in their diary or journal, others compose poems, novels and of course, songs. I am in the latter category. Yes, poetry is great but there's nothing better than a melancholy melody to sink your heart into. I relay the message of hopelessness in the bitter as I drown in my tears. The pain and heartache is real and palatable. By the end of this dirge, you'll understand the cold, empty feeling of the one who was left behind.

Love is Like the Wind is misery to the max. It's the ultimate country breakup song. There’s a ton of emotion in the sweet mandolin track that fits the crying tone. The impressive part comes when Mark plays the tear-jerking harmonica that rips through your soul with bleak desolation. (MarkSheldan.com) This slow, western waltz tells a sad story full of old familiar clichés and is gently sung with perfect crispness, clarity and honesty. (Smokeywine.com)

Snowy, rainy, miserable weather we are having this Feb, 2020. But it fits in perfectly with this melodramatic lament. Fortunately, the events that egged on this tale happened a long time ago and the hurt has now gone but the memories linger on way past the fade. A familiar cliche states that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Unfortunately, in those agonizing moments, the rejected ones don't believe in that nonsense. But time, retrospective and distraction eases the pain, making it bearable to live on. And, if I didn't go through all that, I'd never have this beautiful song to listen to.

I'm lucky I found this crazy dude to share my life with. Now, I can write different kinds of songs that tell a new story. Still, I thought this oldie was a goodie so I hope you enjoy it.
